Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of twenty-six branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. Position Summary:
The position of Outside Sales Manager will work directly with the Branch Manager and the Outside Sales Team to ensure best-in-class customer experience. The Outside Sales Manager must be passionate about people, the sales process and have a strong desire to motivate, mentor and develop team members. The goal is to have an all-star sales team who are engaged and excited about their work while growing sales and gross profit dollars by anticipating and exceeding customers’ expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Manage and motivate the sales team.
- Drive performance in selling our goods and service to existing and potential clients.
- Ensure the sales team meets sales goals.
- Assist in setting reasonable sales targets and establishing techniques to maximize staff efficiency and productivity.
- Identifying leads and creating business relations with prospective and existing clients.
- Recruiting and managing teams of commissioned outside sales representatives.
- Analyzing the current market trends to identify business opportunities that increase revenue.
- Coaching, training, and developing the team through performance management.
- Create a positive culture and environment where Rugby leads the industry in service and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring team members are trained on product knowledge and are following best practices in all areas of Customer Service.
- Utilize reports to obtain business metrics for assisting in performance management.
- Be a Rugby Brand Ambassador: Supporting and Implementing corporate initiatives using mission and values as guiding principles in decision making.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with: Microsoft Office Suite especially Outlook and Excel
- Agility software experience (DMSI) is a plus
- Proven results with people management and track record of driving sales/ profit results
- Ability to analyze data and develop creative solutions and actionable sales plans
- Must be efficient in problem-solving using good judgement and decision making
- Ability to recruit, retain, and grow high potential talent and teams
